Back in July I had the opportunity to create new Headshots for an extremely talented makeup artist, Samantha Linn. When you seek out artists to help make your special day or event seamless, you are looking for someone who is passionate, kind, professional and someone who you feel comfortable with. That is what you get when you work with Sam. When she works her magic, you'll gain even more confidence and will be ready to take on the day!
I met Sam back in 2016 when I photographed my first wedding. She was my bride's makeup artist and she did such an amazing job and was so great to work with. Since then, I've kept her in the back of my head for any future events I may have and of course to pass along her information to any one who was looking to get their makeup professionally done.
Fast forward to 2019; when I got engaged I knew exactly who I wanted to be my makeup artist! I don't typically wear makeup, and when I do I feel like I don't know what I'm doing. Sam worked her magic for our Engagement Session and I cannot wait to work with her again for our wedding this May! She made me feel like myself but just a bit more glamorous ;) Her style is timeless, natural and beautiful.
Now, back to this Summer! I've been wanting to collaborate with local artists and businesses in a different kind of way when it comes to Headshot Sessions. My goal is to create fun, unique and beautiful branding portraits for professionals to use for their marketing materials. We live in a world where social media is such a huge part in our businesses. It's important for us to show who we are in our business and even in our personal lives. When you are searching for someone to hire for your event, the first thing you do is look at their website and social media sites. For me, when the images are professionally taken and when the artist shows their personality through their posts and come off relatable, it puts me at ease and I instantly gain trust. So, when I started brainstorming on the direction I wanted to take my Headshot Sessions the first artist I thought of was Sam! We had such a great time together, laughing & talking about boy bands that we still love! And in the middle of it all, we created beautiful portraits that Sam can now use for her website and social media accounts. Who says Headshots have to be stiff and "posey"?
Visit Sam's website to see how beautiful her work is.. plus she offers beauty education for people like me who don't know the first thing about makeup!
